Bank Place Medical Centre is a Private Billing Practice. Payment is expected and must be paid at the end of the consultation. An accounting fee of $10 will be added if the invoice is not paid on the day of consultation. Please discuss any concerns regarding the fees with your doctor.
Eftpos (credit cards) and cash facilities are available. If you have a CHQ or SAV card a rebate will be given back on the day of consultation. Cheques will no longer be accepted.
Children under 16 and DVA Card Holders are usually Bulk Billed. Pension and Concession Card Holders may be Bulk Billed at the discretion of the consulting doctor.
Some Medical and Pre-Employment Reports will incur a private fee; non-claimable from Medicare (even if on a HealthCare or Pension Card) your doctor will advise if this is the case.
Telephone/Telehealth
Phone Consults are available for existing patients only. We cannot conduct Telephone Consults for new patients (nor for any existing patients that have not been to our clinic for a Face-to-Face consult in the past 12 months) under Medicare’s rules.
Late Notice Cancellation & Non-Attendance Fees
Providing notice allows us to offer your appointment to another patient who may need to see a doctor more urgently.
When a patient does not show for a scheduled appointment, it means that another patient loses an opportunity to be seen. In an attempt to avoid this, we have a non-attendance fee policy.
When you need to change or cancel your appointment you must arrange this no later than 2 hours prior to your scheduled appointment time, otherwise you will be charged a cancellation fee of $55 (non rebateable).
Nursing Department Fees
Bank Place Medical Centre charges fees for items such as dressings, suture removal, plasters, etc. for the purpose of shared cost recovery. These fees have been determined in consideration of the cost of the materials, nursing time, procedure room supplies, waste disposal, sterilisation, and other factors.
These fees (e.g. a dressing fee) are required to be paid upon the conclusion of your visit. You will be out-of-pocket with this fee.
